Camera Raw 7.1 and DNG Convertor 7.1 Release Candidates are now available on Adobe Labs. This release includes bug fixes, new camera support, and new lens profiles. hot on the heels of the just-issued v6.7 versions that shipped last week.
- Note 1: For any version of Adobe Premiere Elements, you can import supported digital camera raw images but you cannot access the Camera Raw dialog box. Note 2: After Effects 7 includes version 3.2.0.1 of the Camera Raw plug-in, which was designed solely for use with After Effects 7.

This is the first Camera Raw release which requires Photoshop CS6 to function, and hence cannot be used with CS5 or earlier versions of Adobe’s flagship imaging app. Adobe Camera Raw 7.1 RC and DNG Converter 7.1 RC both add support for the same impressive list of 21 camera models from eight manufacturers, which were added in the V6.7 releases for CS5. However, the list of new lens profiles–five lenses from three manufacturers–is quite a bit more abbreviated.

Adobe Camera Raw 7
In addition, Camera Raw 7.1 RC corrects the following:
- Keyboard shortcuts for the point curve channel on Windows were not functional
- Local corrections are not refreshing after applying lens corrections. This occurs on both TIFF and JPEG files with noise reduction disabled.
- Point curve adjustments made to a single R,G, or B channels in the Tone Curve tab can be reset a channel curve is adjusted.
- Photoshop CS5 and Bridge show different values for the image resolution in certain images. Photoshop and Bridge are not changing the image resolution, but displaying different values.
- Applying keywords to multiple files can sometimes cause errors when writing the keyword metadata to file. This can occur when the “Save Image Settings in” preference within Camera Raw is set to the Camera Raw database.
